Coach Oliver B Elders Book

Coach Elders was recently inducted into the 2018 Hall of Fame for his love of coaching basketball. Click here to read his Inductee Bio

The ASHOF will be selling his book on Thursday Sept 20th from 4;30-6:30 pm at the Museum. The books are $20 plus tax. Enjoy browsing through the museum as well.

Oliver B. Elders Jr. is a former Arkansas high school and middle school basketball coach who has coached in the state of Arkansas for 36 years. He was the head coach at Horace Mann and retired from Hall High School. He was also a basketball star at Arkansas AM&N, which is now the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Even after retiring, Elder still seems to be an inspiration to others as he reveals his new book titled Fruit of the Spirit. In this book, he includes a collection of some of his favorite poems, prayers, scriptures, lyrics, quotes, etc. The words in this book are not only an inspiration to him, but to his family, friends, former students and players, and his fans as well.

Those who read this book will be able to get inspiration and a sense of positivity that they will be able to succeed. Throughout the book are words from others who have known Elders regarding giving their congratulations and tributes to him. Elders includes many of his favorite poems because he finds that “words” are a source of inner strength. He wants to be able to share those same words that give him comfort and joy to others in hopes of them feeling the same and finding their source of peace and hope.
